This will show you step by step how to copy your images from one site to another. For this scenario, let us assume you have created a test site called TestSite. You have added images to that site, and now you would like to copy them over to your live site called LiveSite.

Since this process will download a file, it is better to do this on a PC.

Step 1 - Log in to TestSite

Export

Log in to TestSite.  From the side panel click on Tools then click on Export.

You could export your whole site, but for this example we want to export the images only.  Click on the Media and select the date range for the images you want to export.

Click on the 'Download Export File' button.  This will create an XML file and save it in your downloads folder on your PC.

Step 2 - Select provider

Import - Select Provider

Now you are ready to upload the images.

Log on to your LiveSite and click on Tools / Import.

To Import the file, you must select a provider.  Pick the bottom provider 'WordPress'.  If it is not already installed, then when you click on it, you will be given the option to install it.

Step 3 - Choose File

Import - Choose File

Click on 'Choose File' and select the file you just downloaded from step one.

Click on the 'Upload and Import File' button.

Step 4 - Set Import settings

You can see in step 1 that the original author's name is associated to these images. Click on the dropdown to assign the images to a valid author on the LiveSite.

Click on the checkbox 'Download and import the attachments.
