Checklist

Before you leave on your trip you will want to make sure you have all the essentials to make your trip exciting.  There is nothing worse than forgetting an essential item and spoiling what could have been a great experience.

If you are flying and/or leaving the country there are 2 absolutely essential items needed.

• • ID – you cannot board a plane or leave the country without it.
  • Credit Card/Cash – If you forget any of the other items you will be inconvenienced in having to purchase them, but you do have a way to obtain them.

A cell phone is the next most important item because not only is it needed to communicate, but you probably have payment options on your phone that could replace credit cards or cash.  You should have the airline app if you are flying so you have the digital copy of your ticket.

Ziploc Bag

It is important to put any liquids into a Ziploc bag to prevent seepage into your luggage. If you have the liquids in your carry-on, they may not exceed 3.4 oz each. A larger bottle, even if it is partially full, will be confiscated.  Put larger bottles in your checked luggage beforehand.

Liquids, gels, aerosols and pastes include anything like beverages, creams, hair gel, hair spray, shampoo, suntan lotions, toothpaste or any item of similar consistency.

You may be required to remove all these items from your carry-on during the security check and having them contained in a bag expedites the process.

Having an extra plastic bag can come in handy during your trip to store small items or charger cords.

Extension cord

Many times there is a limited number of outlets to plug in your chargers and they may be in inconvenient locations.  Having an extension cord with multiple outlets adds flexibility to the amount of devices plugged in.

Rain Wear

As much as you plan for a perfect, sunny vacation it seems like a passing shower can dampen the unprepared if just for several hours.  Having the proper rain gear keeps you and your belongings dry during that time.

Bag for Dirty Laundry

After an intense day of sightseeing, hiking, or just vacationing you will want to keep the worn clothing separate from your fresh clothing.  Having a large bag like a 13-gal trash bag will keep those items from mingling with the fresh items and can be dealt with when you get to a laundry facility or home.
